During the Coronavirus Crisis
Since the UK-Wide lockdown commenced, Rothwell Baptist Church has conducted an on-line service using Zoom each Sunday. This meeting is open to all and to get access details, please use the Contact Form. The service runs from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM (approx) each Sunday.
A number of our other meetings and small groups use Zoom also. These include groups involving the older children and also adult bible study and prayer groups. Again, please use our contact form to find out more about what is going on.
The remainder of this page describes our usual schedule, which will commence again once it is legal and safe to do so. In the meantime, keep an eye on our Church Calendar for up to date information on events.
During "Normal" Times
Every Sunday 10 AM
Sunday Worship. This is where we come together to worship God and enjoy being part of His family.
We sing, pray, read the Bible and listen to a speaker.
Children of all ages stay in for the first twenty minutes or so, and then move out for their own Children’s Worship or Creche.
Communion, the sharing of bread and wine to remember that Jesus died for our sins, is held monthly, usually on the third Sunday. It is part of the service, but you are free to take part or not as you choose.
Afterwards we enjoy refreshments and a good natter.
The service lasts for approximately an hour and a quarter.
You do not have to be a Christian to come, all are welcome.
On the last Sunday of the month, Helen our Family Worker leads a Family Service, a relaxed interactive time suitable for all generations.
Every Sunday at 6 PM
Evening Service. This is a more intimate affair. It lasts around 40 minutes and is also followed by refreshments. This is led by our own members, in varying formats but generally a relaxing way to finish Sunday. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday in each month.
Thursday 2 PM
Bible and prayer. A small group called ‘Bible and Prayer’ meets. They pray for the world, our country and our community and watch a Bible teaching DVD.
Various Days
Small Groups. Two more small groups meet fortnightly in homes to study the Bible and discuss questions of faith, and to pray.
